CDA chairman said that after over two decades of delay, development work has been completed, and the possession process formally started on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, prioritising housing needs in the capital. NAB DG Waqar Ahmed Chauhan congratulated the allottees, saying that verification of documents was completed before issuance of possession letters. He announced that NAB and CDA will jointly introduce a new system for transparency in the housing sector, including barcoded allotment letters and mandatory escrow accounts for housing societies to ensure that deposited funds are spent only on development activities. The CDA chairman said public confidence in the authority’s policies reflects their commitment, adding that development work in other delayed sectors, including C-14, has been accelerated and possession will soon be handed over to allottees.
