FO rejects claims Pakistan attacked Pathankot, Jaisalmer, Srinagar

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has categorically rejected allegations propagated by Indian media outlets accusing Pakistan of carrying out attacks on Pathankot, Jaisalmer, and Srinagar, calling the claims “baseless, irresponsible, and politically motivated.” In an official statement released on Wednesday, the Foreign Office condemned the accusations as part of a deliberate propaganda campaign intended to malign Pakistan and create a pretext for escalation. “These claims are entirely unfounded and reflect a reckless strategy aimed at destabilising regional peace,” the statement said. “The repeated pattern of levelling allegations without credible investigation is deeply concerning and reveals a willingness to exploit misinformation for political and military ends.” The ministry warned that such tactics not only inflame tensions but risk serious consequences for regional stability. It urged the international community to take notice of what it described as India’s “dangerous behaviour” and to counsel New Delhi towards exercising restraint and responsibility. “Any escalation based on false pretenses will be met with full resolve and determination to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement added. While reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the Foreign Office stressed that the country would not be intimidated or provoked by misinformation. “Pakistan remains vigilant and firmly committed to peace, but reserves the right to respond to any act of aggression,” it added. The statement concluded with a firm rejection of the Indian allegations, dismissing them in the “strongest possible terms.” Meanwhile, as tensions between two nuclear-armed neighbours threaten to spiral out of control, Pakistan has strongly rebutted India’s claims that Pakistani military had fired missiles at 15 locations within its territory, terming the allegations “false, baseless, and politically motivated.” The accusations are part of a broader campaign by New Delhi to divert attention from internal challenges and military shortcomings, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said at a joint news conference on Thursday evening. Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that “Pakistan reserves the right to act in self-defence.” He received a telephone call from Secretary Rubio on Thursday in which they discussed the evolving situation in the South Asian region, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
