The police on Saturday foiled an attempt by the land mafia to seize 17 acres of land in Korangi’s Zaman Town area. According to details, armed members of the land mafia group tried to seize 17 acres of land near Korangi Creek within the remits of Zaman Town police station. However, the police reached the spot and foiled the attempt, arresting eight members of the mafia, while their leader and other accomplices managed to escape. According to the plaintiff's case, the armed accused arrived to occupy the 17 acres of land located near Korangi Creek between 4pm and 4:30pm. Soon after, the Zaman Town police arrived at the spot and arrested eight suspects while the other members of the land mafia group managed to escape. The police started investigation against the eight accused taken into custody. Case no 22/2024 has been registered against them. The police have started conducting raids to arrest the other important suspects, including the leader of the land mafia group.
