After the issue of the sealing of four offices of the Education Department by the officials of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) died down, all the offices were opened on Thursday. The development came a day after the clerks and teachers of the Education Department broke the seals of the four offices imposed by the ETPB personnel at midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. After the offices were opened, the heads of the four education offices including the Director Colleges, Deputy Director Colleges, Education Authority and DO Literacy, sat in their offices and performed routine tasks. Rawalpindi DC has ordered the officials of the ETPB and the Education Department to sit together and amicably resolve the months-long land dispute besides prohibiting the sealing of public offices in the future. Leaders of the teachers’ organisations and the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) said this land is owned by the Education Department and the fixed price has been paid in the open auction.
