At least seven people died and 837 were injured in 803 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Of the injured, 495 people with severe injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 343 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site. The majority of RTCs involved motorbikes. Further analysis showed that 437 drivers, 22 underage drivers, 79 pedestrians, and 318 passengers were among the victims of these traffic accidents. The statistics show that 235 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 233 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list. Gujranwala followed behind with 45 RTCs and 44 victims and Multan at third with 42 RTCs and 50 victims. The details further reveal that 837 victims were affected by RTCs, including 669 males & 175 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 170 were under 18 years of age, 425 were between 18 and 40 years and the remaining 249 victims were reported above 40 years of age. According to the data, 699 motorbikes, 58 auto-rickshaws, 89 cars, 24 vans, 5 passenger buses, 26 trucks and 66 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
