Former premier Nawaz Sharif’s close aide Amjad Farooq on Sunday joined PML-Q. Farooq, in the presence of Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, former federal minister Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain and federal minister Moonis Elahi announced he is joining the party. Speaking on the occasion, Elahi noted that despite Gujrat being considered a hub of PML-N, the PML-Q had launched “powerful” projects in the past that “no one could stop”. “In our time, health cards were not required, medicines and treatment in hospitals was absolutely free.” Read More: PML-Q will not betray PTI ‘despite unfulfilled promises’ Hailing Prime Minister Imran Khan, Elahi said the premier was a “man with right intention” and “wanted to do something for the country”. He said the PML-Q was working with government to resolve the issues. Censuring Shehbaz Sharif, Elahi said the PML-N president had “destroyed” the health sector in Punjab. The PML-Q leader maintained that more offices of Rescue 1122 were being set up in Gujrat, adding that more welfare work was being done to “win the hearts of people”.
