The Federal Ministry for Interior has cancelled the regularization of 34 officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). These officers — earlier serving in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) — were regularized in 2012 by a committee led by PPP's Syed Khursheed Shah. According to a notification issued by the ministry, these officers will now be treated as contractual employees. The ministry has also forwarded a copy of the notification to the Auditor General of Pakistan. Some FIA officials had filed a petition against these officers.
