Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Tuesday inaugurated the Customer Care Desk (CCD) Portal for certificate verification, developed by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). The portal aims to provide students with easier access to certificate verification and related services through an online system. Speaking on the occasion, IBCC Executive Director Ghulam Ali Mallah said that students can now verify their academic certificates online via the Customer Care Desk, while also tracking the process through QR codes. He added that students across the country will be able to lodge complaints or access services through the 24/7 desk. “Parents and students from anywhere in the world can email IBCC’s Customer Care Desk, and every email will be responded to within 24 hours,” Mallah said. He noted that the portal had been running in beta mode for six months and has now been made fully public. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Siddiqui said provinces hold autonomy over education under the 18th Amendment, but IBCC was established to provide coordination and ensure a uniform standard of education across the country. He said the ministry would soon meet with provincial representatives to devise a framework for cooperation. “Today, we have crossed a milestone in Pakistan’s history. With technology, students will no longer have to face hardships in getting their certificates verified,” the minister remarked. Siddiqui also said that the final report on the recent Cambridge exam paper leak would be made public once completed. Later, the minister planted a sapling as part of a plantation drive at IBCC.
