Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imran Ali on Monday presided over a meeting of District Peace Committee (DPC) and discussed arrangements to maintain law and order during holy month of Muharram. Additional Deputy Commissioner Salmun Ayub, the DPC's member and the officials of other concerned departments attended the meeting. The deputy commissioner said that foolproof arrangements to maintain peace during the holy month was the priority of the district administration, adding all available resources would utilized in that regard. He urged people belong to all schools of thought to cooperate with the administration for observing peaceful Ashura. The deputy commissioner directed to make foolproof security for public gathering (Majalis) and the routes of mourning processions. He said suggestions of religious scholars would be given priority for maintaining peace during the holy month, adding control room would be established at tehsil levels in that regard. The deputy commissioner pointed out the majalis and the processions' routes would be monitored through CCTV camaras.
