The Power Division has moved the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to enforce a uniform tariff for electricity consumers across the country. NEPRA will hold a hearing on July 1 on the petition. The federal government has filed an application under rules 1998 section 17. It was submitted in the petition that subsidy and inter-Discos rate rationalization be included in the proposed tariff. The initiative is taken to fix uniform rates across the country. The uniform tariff is proposed to be fixed from July 1. According to NEPRA, the hearing will consider the federal government's request.
