Pakistan dismisses media claim of Indian naval advance

Following setbacks in air and ground operations over the past 72 hours, India has now shifted to spreading misleading narratives of naval aggression through international media, Pakistani security sources said on Saturday. According to the sources, a recent article in The Telegraph falsely claimed that an armed Indian aircraft carrier is advancing toward Karachi. However, security officials clarified that the Indian naval vessel remains stationed in international waters, in the same location it occupied during the night of May 6–7 when India conducted its earlier strikes. There has been no forward movement from that position. “The Indian aircraft carrier is still where it was and has not advanced toward Pakistani waters,” the sources stated, calling the claims of its movement toward Karachi “deliberate disinformation aimed at creating panic.” The Telegraph article reportedly suggested that Karachi airport lies within the strike range of the Indian warship. Security officials dismissed this as “sensationalism,” pointing out that with today’s advanced long-range weaponry, any location can be targeted from afar, rendering such claims technically meaningless and strategically irrelevant. “Pakistan’s Armed Forces are fully alert to every tactic and provocation by the enemy,” the sources said, adding, “We retain the capability to strike any target within enemy territory at a time, location, and with weapons of our choosing.” The statement reiterated that the Pakistan military is closely monitoring all developments and remains prepared to deliver a strong and effective response to any form of Indian aggression. “Our forces have responded and will continue to respond decisively to all hostile actions,” security sources concluded.
