An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday extended the interim bails of Bushra Bibi, wife of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, until June 12 in connection with 29 FIRs registered over the PTI's November 26 protest. ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the proceedings. Her counsels, Advocates Muhammad Faisal Malik and Hasnain Sanbal, appeared before the court and requested that Bushra Bibi be included in the investigation in the presence of her husband and legal representatives. Prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah submitted case records before the court, while the investigating officers in these cases were also present. The court extended Bushra Bibi's interim bail until June 12 and adjourned further proceedings until the next hearing, instructing the counsels of both parties to present their arguments on the following date. Meanwhile, in Islamabad, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka extended the interim bails of the PTI founder in six cases and Bushra Bibi in one case. The court also directed that Imran must be produced either in person or via video link at the next hearing. During the hearing on pre-arrest bail pleas, Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared before the court. However, arguments on Imran's behalf could not be presented as lead counsel Salman Safdar was engaged in the Supreme Court. Advocate Chaudhry requested a new date for arguments, noting that despite court orders, the incarcerated leader had not been produced. The court extended the interim bails of the accused until June 17 and ordered that Imran be presented either in person or via video link on the next hearing date.
