Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has commended the Punjab Police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for their successful operation against terrorists in Makarwal, Mianwali, calling it a “significant success” in Pakistan’s ongoing war against terrorism. In a statement from Islamabad on Monday, he lauded the bravery and professionalism of the security forces, who eliminated over ten terrorists in a high-stakes intelligence-based operation. “By sending more than 10 Khawarij terrorists to hell, Punjab Police and CTD have demonstrated exceptional resolve,” he remarked. Terming the action a tactical and symbolic victory, Naqvi said the operation had delivered a strong warning to anti-state elements threatening national peace and security. He emphasised the importance of such swift responses to safeguard innocent lives and maintain long-term stability. “I take immense pride in the officers' courage. Their efforts are truly commendable,” he said, while reiterating the government’s commitment to providing full support and resources to law enforcement agencies to combat terrorism. Security has been further tightened in Mianwali and surrounding areas following the operation. Officials have confirmed that intelligence-based operations will continue to dismantle terrorist networks operating in the region.
