Former prime minister Imran Khan has not authorized any leader of his party to hold talks with the powers that be for any "deal", said PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan while talking to the media after a meeting with Imran at Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail. Last week, senior PTI leader Azam Khan Swati had said he would work to initiate dialogue between Imran Khan and army chief General Syed Asim Munir. He had emphasised the importance of the military, calling it "a key national institution and a source of pride." he had denied suggestions that his release came as part of any deal, maintaining that his loyalty to Imran Khan remained "unshaken." However, the PTI had distanced itself from reports, suggesting that Azam Swati was engaged in talks with the military establishment. Speaking to the media in Lahore, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja on April 12 stated such actions were not sanctioned by the party leadership. However, Swati on Tuesday once again claimed that Imran Khan had agreed to hold negotiations. Speaking to reporters outside an anti-terrorism court in Lahore, Swati said that Imran Khan is deeply concerned about the future of the country and the wellbeing of future generations. However, Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday stated that Imran Khan has not authorized anyone to negotiate "a deal". According to Gohar, during the meeting the PTI founder also strictly instructed his party leaders not to issue any statement against the leader of any other party in the media. Khan lamented that the Adiala Jail authorities continued to flout the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order with regard to Imran's visitation rights.
