The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday disposed of the petition of a Grade 21 office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) against ignoring her for the promotion, after the issuance of an office memorandum on the matter related to her promotion to the next grade. IHC Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas heard the petition filed by Shah Bano Ghaznavi. The judge said that her petition was being disposed of but added that a written order would be issued on the matter. During the hearing, the petitioner herself came to the rostrum to address the court. She said that she was a senior officer in the FBR but she was kept in the "admin pool" for many years. Because that, she said, her juniors officers were promoted while her rights were violated. She requested the court to consider her plea, and issue orders for the inclusion of her name in the consideration by the high power promotion board. Deputy Attorney General Faisal Irfan Advocate informed the court that the Establishment Division had started preparing for the high power board.
