Efforts to curb cheating in Sindh’s ongoing matriculation exams have fallen short, as question papers were leaked and answers shared on social media in several cities on Saturday, including Hyderabad, Shikarpur, and Nawabshah. According to media reports, the Hyderabad Board’s claims to prevent cheating proved ineffective as the 10th-grade chemistry paper was leaked before the exam and its answers circulated widely across social media platforms. In Shikarpur, the 10th-grade biology paper also surfaced online ahead of the exam. A similar incident occurred in Nawabshah, where the mathematics paper under the Shaheed Benazirabad Board was leaked along with its solutions. Meanwhile, in Khairpur, reports emerged of students copying answers with firearms placed openly on desks, highlighting severe security lapses. Under the Sukkur Board, the biology paper was held Saturday. In an attempt to ensure transparency, monitoring teams from the Sukkur Board and local administration conducted surprise visits to multiple exam centers. Despite these efforts, officials confirmed that over 250 cases of cheating were recorded in just four days, according to the controller of examinations at the Sukkur Board. Education authorities have yet to issue a comprehensive response, as widespread paper leaks continue to undermine examination integrity across the province.
