The members of United Nations Security Council have strongly condemned the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack on a Jaffar Express Passenger Train in Pakistan. In a press statement issued by Council President Christina Markus Lassen on Friday, the members expressed deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy and full recovery of injured. “The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack on a Jaffar Express Passenger Train travelling from Quetta to Peshawar near the city of Sibi, Balochistan province, Pakistan, on 11 March 2025 and the taking of passengers as hostages. This reprehensible act of terrorism resulted in the grievous loss of at least 25 Pakistani nationals,” said the press release. They underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice and urged all States to cooperate actively with the Government of Pakistan in this regard. This reprehensible act of terrorism resulted in the grievous loss of at least twenty-five Pakistani national and Balochistan Liberation Army claimed that the attack was carried out by its Majeed Brigade.
