Seven independent power producers (IPPs) and the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) have requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for revision in their tariff. NEPRA, the country's power regulator, will hold a hearing on the IPPs' request today. The petition has been submitted by Nishat Chunian Power, Nishat Power, Narowal Energy Limited, Liberty Power Tech Limited, Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited, Sapphire Electric Power Limited and Saif Power Limited. The hearing will review the mechanism for adjusting the exchange rate difference between the rupee and the dollar.
