A mob in Changla Gali took the law into their own hands and lynched a watchman after he allegedly murdered a local resident in Seer Gharbi Union Council, police sources said on Sunday. According to officials, Khan Zaman, a watchman and resident of Kurram district, was brutally beaten to death with stones and sticks by an enraged crowd after he fatally stabbed local youth Imran Abbasi during a dispute over car parking. Sources revealed that Khan Zaman was employed at a housing society where Abbasi had parked his car overnight. When Abbasi returned in the morning with his brother to retrieve the vehicle, an argument ensued with the watchman. The altercation escalated, and in a fit of rage, Khan Zaman attacked Abbasi with a sharp object, stabbing him multiple times. Abbasi succumbed to his injuries, while his brother was wounded in the attack. As news of the murder spread, a large number of people gathered at the scene, setting fire to five houses in the society. Sensing the danger, Khan Zaman hid in the basement of a house. Police arrived at the scene and, upon learning of his whereabouts, broke down a wall to retrieve him. However, the enraged mob overpowered the officers, forcibly took custody of the watchman, and subjected him to a brutal public execution, declaring him guilty of murder on the spot. Several policemen sustained injuries in the violent confrontation. The watchman's body was later transported to an Abbottabad hospital for a postmortem. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
