A court in Gujrat has cancelled the arrest warrant and proclamation order against PTI leader Moonis Elahi in a murder case on an appeal filed by his mother Begum Qaisara Elahi. The appeal was filed in the court of Sessions Judge Saifullah Tarar against the court order declaring Moonis Elahi as a proclaimed offender in a murder case as he skipped the court hearings. The plaintiff said in her petition that the murder case was registered on June 29 while Moonis Elahi had been out of the country since December 28, 2022. She submitted that the police with mala fide intension implicated her son in the case. Besides, the plaintiff of the murder case Muhammad Akram and witnesses Muhammad Asjad and Sajjad Ashraf submitted their affidavits in the court, saying that they did not suspect that Moonis Elahi was involved in the murder case. They prayed to the court to set aside the order against Moonis Elahi in the case as they believed he had nothing to do with the case. Keeping in view the statements of the plaintiff and witnesses, the court cancelled the arrest warrant and proclamation order against PTI leader Moonis Elahi.
