Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Adviser, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, has claimed that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is missing, with no contact established for several hours. In a statement issued on Monday night, Barrister Saif revealed that all attempts to reach the Chief Minister Gandapur had failed, and his phone numbers were switched off. "Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is in Islamabad, not Peshawar, but we have no information on his whereabouts," Saif said, adding that efforts to contact him were ongoing amid concerns that authorities were trying to arrest him. The development follows a police crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including the arrest of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Sher Afzal Marwat. According to sources, the leaders were detained for violating legal agreements during last night’s rally in Islamabad, including breaching the agreed route, attacking police officers, and exceeding the rally’s permitted time limit. PTI insiders also reported that Shoaib Shaheen had been arrested from his office, while other leaders, including Aamir Dogar and Ali Muhammad Khan, left Parliament House without incident. Police have warned that more PTI figures, including Zartaj Gul and Omar Ayub, are likely to be arrested. Gul reportedly escaped detention by evading police in a car, according to a PTI spokesperson. The arrests come after Islamabad police filed multiple cases against PTI leaders under the Public Order and Peace Act for rally-related violations, including stone-pelting and violent confrontations with law enforcement. Authorities have accused PTI workers of attacking police with stones and sticks, leading to 17 arrests.
