Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has suspended the primary membership of Sher Afzal Marwat due to disciplinary violations. The notification, issued by PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub on Friday, stated that the action was taken following Marwat's breach of party discipline. An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The committee will look into Marwat's statements and actions that allegedly caused significant damage to the party. The notification highlighted that Marwat had already been removed from the political and core committees. The decision to suspend his membership was made on the instructions of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Sources revealed that Khan ordered Marwat's suspension a day earlier, following his public disagreements with the party leadership. Marwat had previously accused party leaders of preventing him from meeting Khan in Adiala Jail. When questioned by journalists, Imran Khan declined to comment on the matter.
