The Senate was informed on Thursday that there was a marked decline in road accidents and the number of fatalities on national highways in Balochistan in the last fiscal year. Communications Minister Aleem Khan, while responding to a calling-attention notice regarding deaths and injuries due to accidents on highways in the province, told the house that speeding and violation of traffic rules and regulations were the main causes of these road crashes. Khan added that he could answer questions pertaining to the past three months. “I am not responsible for past periods,” he added.
