CAA to install ‘e-gates’ at international airports

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has decided to install “e-gates” at the country’s international airports to expedite passenger immigration processes. The CAA has issued a tender for the installation of e-gates at international airports to facilitate passengers. Companies interested in the project have been invited to submit applications by August 13. These applications are sought from companies that provide international border control system services. In the first phase, e-gates will be installed at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports. According to CAA officials, the installation of e-gates will offer passengers faster immigration services. Passengers will need to scan their passports at the e-gates, significantly reducing the time required for immigration procedures. This initiative aims to eliminate the long queues currently faced by passengers during immigration.
