Caretaker Federal Minister for Health Dr Nadeem Jan inspected the Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital’s (FGPH) expansion project on Thursday. During the visit, the minister was briefed by relevant authorities regarding the progress of the ongoing work. The expansion initiative aims to add 300 beds to the hospital, with a projected completion timeline of three years. However, Dr Nadeem Jan urged for the project's acceleration, emphasising a two-year completion target. He stressed the importance of timely delivery for such public welfare projects and vowed not to tolerate any construction delays. Highlighting the significance of the hospital expansion, Dr Nadeem Jan mentioned that it will not only benefit the citizens of Islamabad and the surrounding areas but also extend its services to the people of Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The hospital is envisioned to offer treatment facilities for various medical conditions, including diabetes, blood pressure, maternity care, allergies, bone and joint issues, chest and heart diseases, and skin ailments. The minister underscored the importance of ongoing reforms in the health sector, noting that progress is contingent on these changes. Published in The Express Tribune, November 3rd, 2023.
