An exciting art festival featuring a diverse collection of short and feature films is set to captivate audiences at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) from October 20. The three-day festival will host a selection of 28 films, showcasing the talents of both domestic and international filmmakers, said Juniad Zuberi, NAPA CEO, during a press conference. NAPA has partnered with Gandhara Independent Films for this grand cinematic event, which is slated to run from October 20 to 22. The festival’s programme encompasses a wide array of 28 films from various countries, all thoughtfully curated with English subtitles to ensure accessibility to a global audience. The selection also features a collection of short films from Pakistan. Read more: National Academy of Performing Arts appoints new CEO Among the festival’s highlights is the screening of the iconic Pakistani feature film ‘Aina,’ directed by Nazarul Salaam in 1977. Moreover, ‘Madari,’ a film released just a year ago and featuring NAPA graduates, will also be a highlight of the festival’s lineup. The festival will also offer a window into the world of music with the documentary ‘Sound of Sufi’ and a production by the Sindh Culture Department titled ‘Mai Bakhtawar.’ The festival will include special sessions, including a meet-and-greet with the legendary actress Mumtaz from the past, a panel discussion featuring renowned actress Beo Zafar, and a screening of ‘12 Hours’ by Sahabzade Emeri Ahmed Mirza. The festival will culminate with a mesmerising Qawwali performance.
