In significant changes to its team, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced Farrukh Habib as its new spokesperson. According to a party notification, the senior leader has been appointed as the spokesperson for West Punjab while Rauf Hassan has been appointed as the PTI secretary information, a key role within the party. Shoaib Shaheen, a member of the party's legal team, has been given the responsibility of handling all legal affairs pertaining to the party and former prime minister Imran Khan. The PTI has also witnessed an exodus of key figures who once held key portfolios. Meanwhile, in a statement, the party vehemently condemned the re-arrests of its male and female party workers and activists right after their release from prison. This, he argued, was “a funeral march for Islamic values”, where the law was being used as a weapon to crush the rights and liberties of individuals. He demanded that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa should immediately take notice of the brutality of the state machinery and provide protection to the basic constitutional rights of their families.
