The Rawalpindi district administration has established enforcement committees across various tehsils to combat power pilfering. These committees will consist of officials from the district administration and the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) at the tehsil level. According to sources, heading the enforcement committees at the district level is Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, Nabeel Sindhu, while Assistant Commissioner Headquarters, Chaudhary Waheed Sadiq, will serve as the focal person. These committees will also of Assistant Commissioners Dr Zunaira Aftab, Almas Sabih, Qandeel Fatima, Ishtiaq Ullah, Yasir Rizwan, Salman Akbar, and Murad Hussain, each overseeing specific areas. The primary objective of these enforcement committees is to combat power theft. In line with government directives, stringent actions will be taken against those involved in power theft, with a zero-tolerance policy in place. Legal actions will be initiated promptly against power thieves. Assistant Commissioner Headquarters, Waheed Sadiq, emphasised the establishment of a complaint cell within the Civil Defence office for reporting power theft.
