In a tragic event, seven female students lost their lives while two others were in a critical condition after drowning in a river in the Turbat district of Balochistan, police said on Sunday. According to details, the incident occurred during a school trip when the students, aged between 10 and 17 years old, decided to bathe in a river seeking a respite from the scorching heat and unintentionally moved towards deeper waters. Seven of them drowned while local residents rescued two others who were unconscious. Taking notice of the incident, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed deep grief over the deaths. He also prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and strength for the grieving families to bear such a tremendous loss. Furthermore, the chief minister directed the district administration to extend full support to the affected families and ensure that the injured students receive the best medical care available. The police also confirmed the deaths of seven girls and the critical conditions of the two remaining students. The girls who lost their lives in the incident have been identified as Fiza bint Zubair, Faiza bint Salim, Mah Tap bint Kareem, Dardana bint Naeem, Bushra bint Ghulam, Shireen bint Nasir, and Mah Zeb bint Ashraf. The local people with their help pulled out the bodies from the river and brought them to the hospital.
