Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday emphasised the need for Pakistan to achieve economic self-reliance, stating that the nation must move beyond dependency for economic progress. Speaking in reference to challenging decisions made by the coalition government during its 16-month tenure, Shehbaz asserted that breaking away from the "begging bowl" mentality was essential for progress. In his farewell address, the premier stated, "The poor have made enough sacrifices, and now it is incumbent upon the privileged class to contribute to the nation's development."
