In a recent visit to the Department of Archaeology in Kenthala, Khanpur, Field Officer Syed Gul Kailash urged the Additional Deputy Commissioner Haripur Imran Khan Jadoon to impose Section 144 to stop the ongoing construction. He suggested that the archeology department should transfer the ownership of the site to the ancient Khanpur department to ensure its safety. He gave this suggestion while visiting the site along with SRO Hazara Division, Syed Gul Kailash, Additional Deputy Commissioner Haripur, Imran Khan Jadoon, Assistant Commissioner Khanpur, Sikandar Khan and Side Supervisor of Archeology Department, Raja Adnan. The additional deputy commissioner has pledged full cooperation from the district administration in this regard. On contacting SRO Archeology Department, Hazara, Syed Gilani Kash said that protecting historical sites is the responsibility of both the department and the public. Due to a lack of awareness, many problems arise during excavations, and valuable artefacts go missing, which hinders the department's performance. Published in The Express Tribune, April 29th, 2023.
