One of Assistant Commissioner Bhakkar’s guards turned out to be a facilitator for the smuggling mafia. This was revealed in a secret report received by the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday. DC Bhakkar removed the guard from service immediately. Political figures in Bhakkar strongly urged the DC to take action against the guard. All officials of the Punjab government are making efforts to meet wheat procurement targets, while the connection of the guard to AC Bhakkar, which cultivates wheat over a wide area, has raised eyebrows within the district.
