The salaries of all Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees have been increased by 10 per cent. The national airline's board gave the approval for the increase after the federal government's announcement. Sources said that after the increase in salaries, there was a possibility of an increase in pensions of retired employees as well. The national flag carrier had been incurring losses for several years, with the total estimate being Rs400 billion. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) also asked for an increase in the national airline's income. According to the PIA financial report, the national flag carrier incurred a loss of Rs67 billion in the first nine months of 2022.
