Eight terror suspects held

Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested eight terror suspects belonging to banned outfits on Saturday. A spokesman for the CTD 35 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted in different districts across the province, in which 36 suspects were interrogated and 8 terror suspects were arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials. The spokesman said that the arrested terrorists were identified as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan members Masoodur Rehman, Subhanullah, Sajid Ali, Aziz Khan, Shahid Ejaz, Sharaftullah, Javed Khan, Mohsin Amir Khan and Maulana Khalid. They also arrested Noman Faisal, a member of Daesh. The spokesperson said that CTD teams seized one suicide vest, 6.55 kilogrammes of explosive material, 17 feet of primer cord, 12 feet of safety fuse, five detonators, one hand grenades, nine boxes of ball bearings, one AK47 rifle with 57 rounds, a 30-bore pistol with 24 rounds, one metal jar, 5.4 feet of electric wire, one electric switch, one battery, tape and a knife.
