A 30-year-old man, committed suicide by setting himself on fire in his home in the A Block Pannu Chowk area of Ghulam Mohammadabad. According to reports, Umar, who was a depression patient, locked himself in a room and sprinkled petrol on himself before setting himself on fire. He died due to severe burns. The police arrived at the scene after being notified and took possession of the body. The body was later handed over to Umar’s family members after the completion of legal procedures. SHO Ghulam Mohammadabad Mian Wajid Hussain, stated that Umar had a history of depression and was taking medication for it. He had attempted suicide several times in the past. The police have launched an investigation into the incident. In another incident, a young boy named Yousaf, a resident of Mohalla Anwarabad, has been reported to have committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling fan within the limits of Jarranwala city police. The police took the body of the deceased into custody and have launched an investigation into the matter. The cause of the suicide is still unknown.
