A local court expressed anger at the presentation of a seven-year-old child as the accused in a motorcycle-lifting case and ordered his release after the SHO apologised for the blunder. Fateh Shah police registered an FIR against three accused, including 7-year-old Adeel around one month ago. The child's father said that he visited the police station to complain about the mistake, but the SHO told him to secure his son’s pre-arrest bail from court. The court expressed outrage after the father appeared with his son at the bail hearing. The civil judge immediately summoned the SHO and sought an explanation, to which the SHO sought forgiveness from the court after admitting his mistake. The court ordered the removal of the boy from the case. Published in The Express Tribune, January 21st, 2023.
