The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notification for the restoration of Faisal Vawda’s Senate seat. In light of the Supreme Court's (SC) decision, the Election Commission has withdrawn the notification of the seat’s vacancy in the Senate and has reinstated the notification of the former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader's victory in the general seat of Sindh on March 10. After issuing the notification for the restoration of Vawda to the seat, the Election Commission has withdrawn the notification of Nisar Khuhro’s victory on the Senate seat. According to the decision of the apex court, Vawda has to resign after the restoration of his seat, after which the ECP will hold elections for the general seat.
