In order to safeguard children from diseases and medical complications, their complete screening is necessary to diagnose hereditary issues at an early stage and to provide them timely treatment, Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Dr Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar has said. He was addressing a seminar on congenital cytomegalovirus and the effectiveness of maternal and child screening. An infectious diseases expert from the US, Prof Mubeen Rathore, told the participants about the modern diagnostic methods and technical aspects.
