Pattoki Assistant Commissioner Raja Qasim Mehboob Janjua and a van driver were killed, while four other people were injured in a road accident near Phoolnagar on Monday. According to Rescue 1122 officials, Raja Qasim was driving an official vehicle that collided with a van coming from the opposite direction after crashing into a road divider at the Phoolnagar motorway bypass. The official and van driver Asghar Niamat, aged 55, died on the spot. Sadiq Khan, 60, Samina Siddique, 40, Huzaifa, seven, and Rafiq, 60, suffered severe injuries in the accident. The victims were shifted to the Phoolnagar Trauma Centre. The body of Raja Qasim was shifted to his native village Jhugian in Khushab district. According to sources, Qasim was travelling from Lahore to Pattoki when the accident took place. He was laid to rest in his native area. Published in The Express Tribune, November 15th, 2022..
