The Multan Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy (MINAR) decided to stop treating patients under the Sehat Sahulat Progamme from Tuesday (Nov 29) due to non-payment of dues. The Director of MINAR, Dr Saeed Akhtar, said on Monday that a total payable amount of Rs80 million was due for the current month under the Sehat Sahulat Programme patients. He said that the health facility was entertaining 100 patients daily under the card, adding that they had reduced the number of patients to 75 owing to outstanding payments. Dr Saeed Akhtar maintained that a sum of over Rs46 million had been due by November 12 while it ballooned to Rs80 million by Nov 26. Another pending amount was Rs324,210, the director of MINAR said. When contacted, State Life’s Zonal Chief of Health Insurance, Khawar Majeed, said that they had been paying dues swiftly on monthly basis as these were cancer treatment hospitals.
