Provincial Health Secretary Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi said that a medical college in Bahawalnagar will be completed and become fully operational in June 2024. Chairing a meeting on Tuesday, the health secretary said that the medical college in Bahawalnagar would be provided with facilities including doctor’s residences, doctors and student hostels, adding that DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar had 539 beds. “Work is also ongoing on the Mother and Child Hospital in Bahawalnagar, which has 200 beds,” he added. Dr Qazi reviewed the roadmap for the medical college scheme in Bahawalnagar in detail during the meeting, while other officials delivered briefings.
