The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday granted the PTI two weeks to submit a reply in a case pertaining to the confiscation of the prohibited funding. The electoral watchdog had issued a show-cause notice to the former ruling party on August 10 for the confiscation of the prohibited funding. On Tuesday, the case was heard by the electoral watchdog under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja. During the hearing, PTI assistant lawyer requested the court to grant four weeks for the submission of reply and documents to the ECP. The CEC said that the PTI had already submitted all the documents in the case. The assistant counsel replied that details of matters were still to be submitted. He said they had also sought particulars from the PTI’s foreign chapter. On the request of the assistant lawyer, the CEC granted PTI time till September 6 to submit reply in the case. The PTI has also challenged the ECP’s decision in the Islamabad High Court.
