The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) cancelled holidays for field staff and company workshop workers to ensure swift cleanliness arrangements for the 9th and 10th of Muharram. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue and CEO MWMC Ameer Hassam made the announcement during an inspection of cleanliness arrangements at Imambargahs and along procession routes on Saturday. CEO Hassan also met the organisers of the processions and majalis. He added that the MWMC was following a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Muharram and workers were performing duties in two shifts. Water sprinkling and lime lining is being done outside Imambargahs and phenyl is being used along procession routes to ensure thorough cleaning. He said company workers were working diligently on a daily basis and arrangements would continue at the same pace until Ashura day. Organisers of the processions and majalis appreciated the MWMC management and workers and said that thorough cleaning arrangements were being made on Muharram.
