Turkey reaffirms support for resolution of Kashmir dispute

Turkey on Wednesday reaffirmed its support for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, saying that it wanted the decades-old issue to settle in line with the resolutions of the United Nations. These remarks were stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Ankara following a one-on-one meeting. President Erdogan said that Turkey supported Pakistan in its effort against all types of terror. "The fight Pakistan has against terrorism, I definitely believe, it will triumph in it..," he added. The prime minister while terming his meeting with President Erdogan very productive, expressed the hope that under the dynamic leadership of the president, the bilateral ties would scale to new heights. Earlier, the two leaders also witnessed the signing of various agreements and MoUs for enhanced cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interests. A smartly turned out contingent of the Turkish armed forces presented a guard of honour to the prime minister, where he was received by the Turkish president. On the occasion, national anthems of both the countries were played. Premier Shehbaz introduced members of his delegation to President Erdogan.
