Seven people, including three of a family, were killed while four others sustained injuries in traffic accidents. The family were returning from the airport in Lahore when their car collided with a truck four kilometers off the interchange on the Motorway. Nuzhat Bibi, 48-year-old Naimat and her 18-year-old daughter Iram died on the spot while Mariza and Muhammad Nasir sustained injuries. The latter were shifted to a hospital. In another accident, a tractor-trolley knocked off a motorcycle near 240 GB on the Jaranwala Road, killing the motorcycle riders, 14-year-old Irfan and 26-year-old Gulnaz, on the spot. In yet another accident, 18-year-old Owais riding on a motorcycle died on the spot after being hit by a truck near the Education Board Office off Jhang Road. In the first week of this month, eight members of a family were killed when their car collided head-on with a coaster in Vehari. The deceased were identified as Abdul Hameed, 60, his son, Sajjad Hussain, 33, daughter-in-law, Sanam Naz, 27, and granddaughters Sahil Umer, 15, Mashal, 7, and Mishal. They died on the spot while two other grandchildren of Abdul Hameed, five-year-old Arsalan and 16-year-old Lubna, who had sustained serious injuries, died in the hospital.
