Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has called upon all political parties to steer the country out of the prevailing crises, terming Imran Khan’s regime the "worst in Pakistan’s history". He made these remarks while accompanied by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari who visited him in London on Thursday. Nawaz thanked Bilawal for visiting him at his residence. Leaders from both sides were also present on the occasion. Addressing the joint presser, the former prime minister recalled that Pakistan used to be strong economically and that the people of Pakistan recall those times. موصوف کہتے ہیں مجھے سازش کر کے نکالا گیا۔ کیا تم نے کوئی ایٹمی دھماکہ کیا تھا؟ تم نے تو ویسے ہی پاکستان کو تباہ کر دیا۔@NawazSharifMNS pic.twitter.com/Z1DB0OAdrl — PML(N) (@pmln_org) April 21, 2022 “We have to repair the damage that has been done to Pakistan, although it will take some time,” he remarked. According to the PML-N supremo, the grave issues of today needed brainstorming for their resolution. Turning his guns towards the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, Nawaz claimed that his rule was the “worst in the country’s history”. Mocking Imran for his “foreign conspiracy” claims, he asked, “Why would someone conspire against you; did you order an atomic blast? Why would someone conspire against you; you are the one who made every effort to destroy Pakistan.” The three-time prime minister went on to say that it was the previous rule wherein a culture of gangsters and name-calling was nurtured. Nawaz also took Imran to task for his “U-turns”, saying he always did the opposite of what he claimed. “He [Imran] told us that he would rather commit suicide than knock at the doors of the IMF. But he brought disrespect to Pakistan and begged for money.” Before concluding his talk, the PML-N supreme leader told media persons that Bilawal will visit him again on Friday (today). Speaking on the occasion, Bilawal said that the political parties had made history by voting against Imran Khan and ousting him from power. He recalled that the PPP and PML-N had fought together earlier as well. “We ended this selected government in less than four years.” "ہم نے ایک ایسے وزیر اعظم کو جمہوری طریقے سے نکالا جو غیر جمہوری طریقے سے اقتدار پر قابض ہوا تھا۔" چیئرمین پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی بلاول بھٹو زرداری@BBhuttoZardari pic.twitter.com/8aCIHvyIc0 — PPP (@MediaCellPPP) April 21, 2022 He claimed that a non-democratic individual was imposed upon Pakistan, but the political parties didn’t opt for any non-democratic means. “We defeated him through a no-confidence move and removed a non-democratic person using democratic means,” he added. The PTI leader further said that the next generation could play its role in mainstream politics under the Nawaz-Zardari leadership. لندن: پاکستان پیپلزپارٹی کے چیئرمین بلاول بھٹو زرداری کی مسلم لیگ ن کے قائد میاں نواز شریف سے ملاقات کے لئے اسٹین ہوپ ہاؤس میں واقع دفتر آمد@BBhuttoZardari pic.twitter.com/jAineKibQN — PPP (@MediaCellPPP) April 21, 2022 On April 10, at the stroke of midnight, Imran Khan was voted out from power through a vote of a no-confidence motion, becoming the first prime minister in the country’s history to be unseated by a parliamentary revolt. The joint opposition's no-confidence motion, which required 172 votes in the 342-strong parliament to pass, was supported by 174 lawmakers, shaking the political earth of the country with an unprecedented ouster of the premier and seemingly bringing to an end the protracted crisis.
