Pervez Elahi predicts no-confidence move will 'ruffle some feathers'

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervez Elahi has said that the no-confidence move is being cooked for so long and that it "will emerge into something". The veteran politician made the remarks when he was asked whether the next 48 hours are crucial for the opposition's move against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Express News reported on Thursday. Elahi said, "Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman could tell better whether the next 48 hours are crucial. He further quipped that food had been on the stove, but instead of showing some signs of being cooked, it was currently just letting off steam. He hailed the measures taken by Premier Imran to bring inflation down, saying a drop in the prices of petrol and electricity will also majorly benefit the masses. To a question on whether the prime minister was worried about the developing situation regarding the no-trust move, the PML-Q leader laughed and responded: "I don't think he is worried at all." On Tuesday, as the opposition teamed up to topple the incumbent government, PM Imran met the top leadership of his main ally, the PML-Q, which assured him of full support if the opposition moved a no-confidence motion. They assured Premier Imran that the opposition’s no-confidence motion plans are nothing more than a “myth”.
