A woman slit the throats of her three daughters and subsequently set herself on fire on Saturday in Haranpur village, on the outskirts of Pind Dadan Khan in district Jhelum, Punjab. The police identified the deceased children as five-year-old Zoya, four-year-old Faiza, and three-year-old Jannat. The woman, who was identified as Yasmeen, suffered severe burns and has been shifted to a hospital in critical condition. The police further added that the woman's husband Faiz Ahmed was a rickshaw driver. Further investigation into the incident was underway. Reportedly, Muzaffar Iqbal, a resident of 75GB area in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station, left his licensed gun under his bed and went to his workplace. Meanwhile, his son Obaidullah picked up the gun from under his bed and started playing with it. The nine-year-old shot himself while playing and was severely injured. The child was rushed to Allied Hospital where he died after struggling for his life.
