Assistant Commissioner Kahuta, after assuming the additional role of administrator of the tehsil, paid a visit to the Municipal Committee as well as the Qadeer Library Kahuta and issued special instructions regarding the latter. As per the directives of the new local government system in Punjab, assistant commissioners have taken on the charge of administrators in their respective tehsils. During his inspection of Qadeer Library, the new Kahuta administrator issued directives for the repairs and renovation of the library, including installation of new lights, restoration of malfunctioning computers, construction of new bookshelves, provision of new furniture and procurement of new books. Moreover, the assistant commissioner imposed a complete ban on the use of Qadeer Library for all kinds of non-academic pursuits and political activities. An anti-encroachment operation was also launched on the instructions of the administrator, with the Municipal Committee team sealing two shops and confiscating the encroachers’ goods besides imposing heavy fines on the offenders. Shopkeepers were strictly instructed to keep their merchandise confined to the limits of their respective shops, failing which legal action would be taken against them.
