Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that people can remain safe from Aids by following a healthy lifestyle and adopting precautions. In a message on World Aids Day, he said voluntary organisations should play a role to overcome the disease. He emphasised that public awareness was also important in this regard. The provincial government has adopted a comprehensive strategy and different facilities are provided free of cost through Punjab Aids Control Programme, the CM added. Chief Minister Buzdar also chaired a ceremony in honour of best performing officials of the ‘reach every door’ coronavirus vaccination campaign over the achievement of the target of vaccinating 13 million people in 12 days. He announced start of the second phase of the campaign to vaccinate more than 20 million citizens by December 31. The chief minister also chaired a meeting to deliberate on consultation with the PML-Q on the new local government act. The chief minister informed Dr Shoaib Suddle, who is presiding over a commission regarding minorities, that the draft had been prepared for a minority rights commission.
